Faraday team has successfully integrated Alvand’s AFE and customer’s Modem logic into the FA626TE platform to deliver next generation mixed signal SOC for femtocell application. This highly integrated SOC helped customer to reduce their BOM cost with increased performance. Faraday delivered first cut working silicon, enabling the customer to achieve its success.
The MIMO Wireless AFE is low power and ultra compact IP designed in standard UMC 65 nm logic process. It consists of three 10-bit IQ ADC cores, four 10-bit current-steering IQ DAC cores, and a PLL. The ADC and the DAC utilize fully differential architecture. A single 2.5 V supply is used for the entire IP. The digital logic supply is provided through an internal custom 1.0 V voltage regulator. The ultra low power 10-bit 50 / 80 MSPS ADC keeps the receive channel power down. The clock to the ADC and the DAC are generated from a low jitter PLL. The PLL accepts an input frequency range of 4~66 MHz. The ultra low power 10-bit 200 / 320 MSPS DAC provides excellent transmission channel performance.
