Mansour Keramat, Ph.D.
Dr. Keramat has over 15 years of design and teaching experience in the industry and academia. Dr. Keramat was Chief Analog Engineer at GlobespanVirata, a global leader in DSL communications, and was Principal Analog Designer at NVIDIA. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, and Director of the Mixed-Signal Laboratory, at the University of Connecticut, where he instructed numerous short courses on analog circuit optimizations to the industry. He also consulted for a number of companies in high-performance circuit design.
His expertise spans a wide range of high-speed analog circuits including A/D and D/A converters, PLLs, and Analog Front End's (AFEs) for imaging systems, wireline and wireless communications. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Ecole Superireure d'Electricite (SUPELEC) in France.
Tim Kuo, Ph.D. Dr. Tim Kuo has over 15 years of RF/Analog IC design experience. He was with Philips Semiconductors where he worked on various RF circuits for cellular applications, and with NVIDIA where he led the transceiver system design of 802.11 WLAN project. He has worked on many wireless systems including CDMA, WLAN, UWB, WHDI, and DVBH. While with Alvand, he has successfully brought DVBH/T tuner IP into volume production. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He currently serves as a board member and director of RF IC & Wideband Circuits at Alvand.
Charlie Chao Mr. Chao is responsible for Alvand's high-performance data converters (ADC/DAC) and Analog Front End (AFE) IP development. Mr. Chao has over 15 years of experience on high speed analog & mixed signal IC design. Prior to Alvand, he was Design Manager of SiBEAM Inc, a pioneer on CMOS 60GHz WirelessHD technology. He delivered SiBEAM’s three generations of mixed signal core while halving the power for each generation migration. Mr. Chao held senior technical position at Marvell Technology working on Read Channel Storage and at LSI Logic on Broadband Access, responsible for multi-Giga sample/sec ADC and DAC development.
Mr. Chao has a proven track record of technical depth for volume production high-yield cutting-edge analog & mixed-signal SOC products for enterprise and consumer electronics. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from National Tsinghua University and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from USC (University of Southern California).
John Patterson John Patterson is one of the most accomplished salespersons with extensive experience in the semiconductor industry. He has 20 years sales and engineering experience in the ASIC and Mixed-Signal IP industry. He has served as Director of Sales for ES2, ARCCores, and world leading analog IP Company, Chipidea (aquired by Synopsys). For all three companies, he made significant contributions to North American sales that resulted in either a successful acquisition or IPO. Regarding the data converters market, he has worked for S3 Group and Chipidea on selling leading edge IP.
